Alice Loper, LPC Associate

I work with adults and adolescents ages 15 and older who are navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, identity and self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and relationship or career difficulties. I also have experience supporting individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, mood disorders, and psychosis. While complex PTSD and its related challenges are a particular area of focus in my work, I enjoy helping people navigate a wide range of mental health concerns.

My approach to therapy is compassionate, affirming, and grounded in the belief that meaningful healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and accepted. I draw from relational and attachment-based perspectives, helping clients explore how their experiences and relationships have shaped the way they see themselves and interact with the world. Together, we can approach difficult emotions and experiences with curiosity, develop greater self-awareness, and work toward meaningful change.

I believe therapy should be as unique as the person seeking it. My integrative approach allows me to tailor treatment to your individual needs, drawing from Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic Experiencing. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach used to help individuals process traumatic experiences. I incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when appropriate. Rather than relying on a single approach, I work collaboratively with you to identify the tools and strategies that best support your goals.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals experiencing a broad spectrum of mental health challenges across multiple levels of care. My professional experience includes working with a Collin County mental health provider, in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at a mental health hospital, and in private practice. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of the many ways mental health challenges can affect people’s lives and the importance of meeting each person where they are.

Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my partner, our fur babies, my adult children, and friends. I love connecting with nature, creating art, and building things in my studio and workshop. I’m also always interested in new experiences, with Burning Man and visiting an elephant orphanage on my bucket list.

I look forward to getting to know you, hearing your story, and helping you work toward the life you want to create.
