Breiane Cage, LMFT, CCTP
I believe no one gets through life unscathed. From our earliest experiences, we begin developing beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Those beliefs shape how we think, feel, respond to challenges, and navigate relationships. Over time, some of the patterns we’ve developed may no longer serve us, leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life we want to live.
My approach to therapy begins with understanding you as a whole person. No two people share the same experiences, beliefs, or challenges, which is why I believe treatment should be tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re seeking individual, couples, or family counseling, I work collaboratively with you to identify the patterns contributing to your difficulties, understand where they originated, and develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and relating to others.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong interest in the relationship between physical health and mental health. Our brains and bodies do not function independently of one another. Nutrition, neurological functioning, and physical well-being can influence how we think, feel, and respond to stress. This understanding has shaped my approach to treatment, leading me to incorporate neurofeedback into my work and pursue a second master’s degree in Applied Nutrition, which I am currently completing. I believe that understanding both the psychological and physiological factors influencing mental health allows us to develop a more comprehensive and individualized approach to treatment.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I have a particular interest in understanding how past experiences and trauma influence our present lives. My approach draws from multiple therapeutic modalities, allowing me to adapt treatment to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular method of therapy.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 18 years in business management and development, an experience that gave me an appreciation for the complexities of people, relationships, and the challenges we encounter throughout life. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Political Science and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a certified Life Coach and a certified facilitator of the PREPARE/ENRICH couples assessment.
Above all, I believe meaningful change begins with understanding. You don’t have to have all the answers before beginning therapy. My role is to help you explore what’s keeping you from moving forward, recognize the strengths you already possess, and develop a path toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. I would be honored to walk alongside you on that journey.
